Here's to enjoying a great time with her tonight and hoping she doesn't grow up to fast!

Well, this was a nice, long and relaxing weekend. After a full school and work week it was nice to enjoy the spring air, sitting and chatting with the hubby and letting the kids run around with all their friends. We had originally planned to go with my parents to go see USA play in the medal rounds tonight however mom and dad decided it would be to late for them to drive back to Grand Forks and still make it up for work. After finding this out it was decided that Blaine and Justin would go to the hockey game - just the boys, while Kayla and I would spend the evening together - just the girls. (Kayla is not much for seeing Hockey every weekend :-) We decided that seeing Hannah Montanna was a much better idea for her and I. As I sat in the movie with her tonight listening to her giggle through it and sing along to the songs I realized how quickly she is growing and that before I know it she will be wanting to go to the movies with just her friends and will only be needing me for the ride...... and money of course!

Spring Preview
As anyone involved in Hockey or a fan of Hockey knows Team USA is in town. What a treat for us! We went and saw them play Norway on Thursday, this was by far the best Hockey I have ever seen - unfortunately I was told I could not bring my "professional" (I say this lightly) camera with me and my small one's battery was dead so I was not able to get any pictures. Blaine and Justin went again on Saturday to see USA play Finland, this time Blaine was able to get some pictures but said he had a hard time remembering to take pictures when all he really wanted to do was watch the game. But at least there are pictures to remind us!

It seems everyone in town had Good Friday off and decided to enjoy the outdoors. We were happy to see all the people buzzing around town and how many friends that we ran into that we had not seen through the long winter months. Much to everyone's relief 'so far' they made it through flood #1 without any water, even our former babysitter who is barely a block away from the river. Not suprising to me she continued to do daycare with all the water turned off in the "daycare area". I am sure her being open was a relief to all the parents; I sure wish our daycare would have been so furtunate.
We spent Easter at home with my relatives coming to join us. It was a great weekend spent with my sister on our girls afternoon out Saturday. Much to my surprise and with out any hints Blaine suggested that she and I should go somewhere and spend a night or heck why not a whole weekend away some time soon. I think we should jump on the chance while the offer is still fresh! Vegas Baby!!
Tonight, I am reminded how close we are to spring...yet still so much into hockey.

And as my nose tells me...summer will not come a day to soon!

After 8 long days at home waiting for the storm(s) to pass it seems as if we are finally getting back to normal. I was finally able to go back to work on Friday after spending most of my days working from home and taking care of the kids; Blaine put the lower two levels of our house back to together and we finally spent some time outside of the house/yard this weekend. Although the kids don't seem to anxious for it I will be happy when they are back in school and back to their evening activities...normal seems so exciting these days.
My dad and niece attended a Father/Daughter - Grandfather/Granddaughter dance this weekend in my hometown. I can't believe how grown up she looks! Here our tomboy little girl is all dressed up - wow - what a beautiful girl she is turning out to be! I can't wait for her to tell me all about it!

Here's to everyone getting back into their houses, back to work, back to school...back to normal. Have a great week and Easter, hope to hear or see you soon!

For anyone who hasn't received them, we will be delivering the remaining GirlScout cookies this week, we weren't able to make it to all the houses since a lot of them are in the area where most families were asked to leave. Thanks to everyone who purchased some, it made it a very exciting time for Kayla.
